Regional Connectors Study Open House - Drop by one of the in-person open houses to learn about plans to improve travel and connectivity in Hampton Roads and help create a long-term vision for travel improvements between the Peninsula and Southside. HRBT Expansion Project - Learn about upcoming lane closures and traffic shifts for the HRBT Expansion Project. Expansion project improvements are underway to include adding a third lane and a drivable shoulder to I-64 in each direction. New twin two-lane tunnels will accommodate four lanes of traffic for a total of eight lanes of capacity across the water and will be constructed as bored tunnels. NEL Summer 2023 Internship Applications - Applications are now being accepted for the 2023 Norfolk Emerging Leaders (NEL) program! If your student is between the ages of 16 and 21, the NEL program offers them the opportunity to have a summer job where they can learn about public service careers in local government, gain valuable hands-on work experience and get access to job readiness training and financial literacy education. Keep Norfolk Beautiful - The City of Norfolk offers two recycling drop-off facilities for Norfolk residents. These sites are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and accepts the same items for recycling that are accepted in the curbside collection program. The Center locations are Waste Management, at 1176 Pineridge Road and Towing and Recovery, at 1188-A Lance Road. Keep Norfolk Beautiful offers the Special Event Recycling Program (S.E.R.P.) to loan recycling collection bins to provide easy recycling opportunities at special events hosted by businesses and organizations in Norfolk.
